UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES – VIETNAM NATIONAL UNIVERSITY HO CHI MINH CITY STRENGTHENS GLOBAL TIES: PARTNERSHIP EXPLORED WITH TAIWAN'S NYCU

On 29th September, 2025 – The University of Health Sciences (UHS – VNU-HCM), and the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) of Taipei, Taiwan, held a working session on the afternoon of 29th September. The purpose of the meeting was to introduce and build mutual understanding between the two entities, and to discuss opportunities for cooperation in training, academic exchange, and scientific research aimed at developing international networking and connectivity.

Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phạm Anh Vũ Thuỵ hosted the delegation. Leaders and faculty members from various specialised departments at UHS also attended. The NYCU delegation included Dr. Tung-Yi Lin, Director and Professor of the Institute of Traditional Medicine, along with other Directors and department leaders.

Speaking at the session, Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phạm Anh Vũ Thuỵ affirmed that this was a valuable opportunity for both sides to exchange, discuss, and seek practical directions for cooperation, which would contribute to promoting the development of education and scientific research in the region. He expressed confidence that, leveraging the strengths of both universities, the meeting will lead to effective cooperation programs, particularly in postgraduate education, student and faculty exchange, and interdisciplinary research.

National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) was established in 2021 through the merger of two prominent universities in Taiwan: National Yang Ming University and National Chiao Tung University. The institution strategically combined National Chiao Tung University’s strengths in electronic, information, and communication technology with National Yang Ming University’s strengths in biomedical research, thereby promoting interdisciplinary cooperation to solve practical problems.
