UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES - VIETNAM NATIONAL UNIVERSITY HO CHI MINH CITY SIGNS STRATEGIC COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH MILITARY HOSPITAL 175

On the afternoon of October 15, 2025, the University of Health Sciences, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, and Military Hospital 175 officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), opening a new phase in the comprehensive cooperative relationship between the university and this key, top-tier medical facility. The agreement focuses on pivotal areas such as training, scientific research, technology transfer, and public health care.

The ceremony took place in a formal atmosphere attended by the Board of Presidents, leaders of faculties, departments, and centers from the University of Health Sciences – VNUHCM, alongside the Board of Directors and specialized departments of Military Hospital 175. Notably, a representative from the University of Information Technology – VNU-HCM, was also present, signifying a collaborative role in integrating digital technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the training and research system of the health sciences sector.

Speaking at the event, Major General, Dr. Tran Quoc Viet, Director of Military Hospital 175, affirmed that the University of Health Sciences – VNUHCM is one of the hospital’s crucial strategic partners. He committed to providing comprehensive support regarding facilities and resources, while emphasising the shared objective of training medical personnel who are not only professionally competent but also ethically sound. “Become a person before becoming a doctor,” General Viet stressed.

Professor, Dr. Phan Bach Thang, President of the University of Health Sciences – VNUHCM, expressed his hope that this relationship would become a bridge helping Military Hospital 175 expand deeper cooperation with Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, a multi-disciplinary university ecosystem that converges strong resources for training and research. He also highlighted the role of management in education and wished for the two units to coordinate closely to create sustainable and effective cooperation models.

During the event, leaders from both parties exchanged ideas and proposed several specific cooperation contents: collaboration on clinical practice training for students, developing postgraduate training programs, jointly undertaking national-level research projects, technology transfer, and applying AI, big data, and digital transformation in teaching and healthcare. Concurrently, the two parties also planned to coordinate the organisation of workshops, scientific conferences, and community activities to disseminate knowledge and serve society.

The signing ceremony not only marks a turning point in the relationship between the university and the hospital but also contributes to connecting three crucial pillars: training, practice, and research, within the modern healthcare ecosystem. The event concluded in a spirit of open cooperation, promising to unlock many breakthroughs in developing healthcare human resources and enhancing the quality of public healthcare in the near future.

Military Hospital 175 is the top-tier military hospital in the Southern region, currently developing into a multi-functional, specialised, and modern medical complex conforming to international standards. Given its strategic location and large scale, the hospital integrates numerous institutes, centers, and deep specialised departments, providing high-quality medical services for both military and civilian populations. It is also the only hospital in Vietnam possessing an air emergency center. In addition to examination and treatment, the hospital also trains, instructs, and transfers technology to other medical facilities, aiming towards an institute-university model, playing a central role in research and medical human resource training.
