University of Health Sciences– Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City and An Binh Hospital Forge Ambitious Strategic Partnership for Medical Advancement and AI Integration

On the morning of 21st August, 2025, the University of Health Sciences – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (UHS – VNUHCM), led by President Professor Dr. Phan Bach Thang, conducted a significant working visit to An Binh Hospital. The visit served as a crucial platform to evaluate the progress of their existing collaborative initiatives and to chart a comprehensive course for expanding their strategic partnership in the coming period.

The robust connection between the University of Health Sciences – VNUHCM and An Binh Hospital was established in September 2024. Over the past year, both institutions have successfully launched initial joint programmes, particularly in the vital field of Traditional Medicine, effectively laying the groundwork for a dynamic “university-hospital” cooperation model.

During the working session, leaders from both entities underscored the substantial, untapped potential for collaboration. They emphasised the imperative to fully harness these synergies to further the mission of training high-quality medical personnel and providing excellent healthcare services to the community.

Leveraging An Binh Hospital’s specialised clinical expertise and UHS – VNUHCM’s strategic role in connecting with the multi-disciplinary ecosystem of VNU-HCM, the two institutions reached a consensus to swiftly intensify cooperation across several key areas:

• Expanded Clinical Practice: Broadening opportunities for both undergraduate and postgraduate clinical training at the Hospital, with a specific focus on An Binh Hospital’s strong specialties, including Internal Medicine and Surgery.

• Collaborative Scientific Research: Jointly undertaking interdisciplinary research projects at the VNU-HCM level and co-organising scientific conferences and workshops to foster innovation.

• Advanced Hospital Management: UHS – VNUHCM will connect An Binh Hospital with VNU-HCM’s diverse strengths to support the hospital in the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Information Technology (IT), alongside enhancing overall administrative efficiency.

• Integrated Hospital System: The University will propose a framework to connect An Binh Hospital with VNU-HCM’s upcoming hospital, establishing a comprehensive practical training hospital system for the University.

This strategic alignment underscores a shared vision and unwavering commitment to driving innovation in medical education and healthcare. By integrating their strengths, the University of Health Sciences – VNUHCM and An Binh Hospital aim to make profound contributions to the development of the healthcare sector and to the paramount mission of protecting public health.
