UHS - VNUHCM RESEARCH TEAMS SHINE AT INTERNATIONAL BIOLOGY AND DRUG DISCOVERY CONFERENCES

On 28th September, 2025, University of Health Sciences (UHS – VNUHCM) has consistently made its mark at prestigious scientific conferences both domestically and internationally, affirming its position in scientific research and global integration.

  1. Outstanding Report at the International Biology Conference 2025

    A research group, including authors Nguyễn Ngọc Diện, Phạm Bùi Nam Anh, Nguyễn Trần Khánh Đoan, Lê Mỹ Duyên, Hà Phương Ngân, Nguyễn Thùy Linh, Nguyễn Thị Kim Nhường, Nguyễn Thành Đạt, Bùi Thị Phường, Trần Thị Huyên, and Nguyễn Minh Nam, was honored with the Best Oral Presentation Award. Their winning title was: “Leonurus japonicus as a natural source for development of skin care and antiaging formulations.” The study garnered particular attention due to its modern approach to exploiting traditional medicinal herbs, coupled with advanced formulation and simulation technologies to develop skincare and anti-aging products. The project demonstrated the significant potential of utilizing Vietnamese medicinal materials to serve the rapidly developing cosmeceutical industry.

    2. Impressive Research Contributions at Summit Asia 2025 (Singapore)

    UHS continued its international engagement by contributing numerous reports and scientific posters at the Discovery & Development Summit Asia 2025, held in Singapore from 9th-10th September, 2025. This event brought together three leading regional conferences focused on drug development, gene therapy, and precision medicine.

    UHS presented research focusing on two primary directions:

    1. Screening small molecules for selective inhibition of MAO-B, with potential application in Parkinson’s disease treatment.

    2. Inhibiting IL-21 and IL-23 via molecular simulation, aimed at treating inflammation and autoimmune diseases.

    This continuous stream of success at both national and international conferences serves as a testament to the sound strategic direction and relentless efforts of UHS – VNUHCM Faculties, students, and scientists in their commitment to the sustainable development of Vietnam’s healthcare system and the pursuit of international stature.
