Signing Ceremony of Cooperation Agreement between University of Health Sciences – Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City and University of Szeged, Hungary

On the morning of 23rd October, 2025, at the YA1 Administrative Building, the cooperation signing ceremony took place between the University of Health Sciences – Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City (UHS – VNUHCM) and the University of Szeged (SZTE), Hungary.

Attending the ceremony, representing the University of Szeged were Prof. Dr. Zsolt Szakonyi – Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Prof. Dr. István Szatmari Zatmári – Director of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Chemistry; and Dr. Bálint Lőrinczi – Representative of the Director of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. On the side of the University of Health Sciences, there was the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Anh Vu Thuy – Vice President, along with leaders of relevant units.

Since June 2025, the two universities have engaged in numerous exchanges to seek cooperation opportunities in the fields of education and scientific research. Based on that foundation, this signing ceremony marks an important development step in the bilateral cooperation relationship between UHS – VNUHCM and SZTE, aiming towards the goal of innovation and integration in the health sciences sector.

According to the agreement, both parties will coordinate to develop a joint working plan, leverage the strengths of each university, exchange academic knowledge, improve training and research capacity, transfer technology, and expand opportunities for the internationalization of education.

It is known that the University of Szeged was established in 1872 and has been considered one of the top 500 universities in the world for many years. It is a research university with outstanding achievements, covering 700 research fields across 19 Doctoral schools and offering 50 full-time degree programmes for international students.
