Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City - Health Sciences University and Kyung Hee University (KHU) Initiate Collaboration in Health Sciences

On February 18th, 2025, VNUHCM University of Health Sciences (VNUHCM-UHS) engaged in a productive working session with representatives from Kyung Hee University (KHU), a prominent institution in the Republic of Korea.

Established in Seoul in 1949, Kyung Hee University has attained considerable academic recognition. It currently holds the 8th position nationally, 40th in Asia, and 236th globally, according to the QS World University Rankings. Notably, the KHU College of Korean Medicine is a leading centre for the study of traditional Korean medicine, as well as other traditional Asian medical systems, thus providing a unique platform for interdisciplinary collaboration in health sciences.

Attending the meeting, KHU delegation comprised Professor Hyojin An and Professor Kyuho Moon. Representing VNUHCM-UHS were Prof. PhD. PharmD. Le Minh Tri, Representative of the Board of Directors; Prof. PhD. PharmD. Thai Khac Minh, representative of the Department of Pharmacy; representatives from the Department of Science, Technology & International Cooperation; and members from the Department of Pharmacy.

During the meeting, discussions were centred on potential collaborative opportunities in key areas, including student exchange programmes, pedagogical advancements, and scientific research initiatives. Both institutions expressed a strong commitment to establishing a strategic partnership through a forthcoming Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to serve as a framework for sustained collaboration, promoting academic and research synergy.

This meeting signifies a pivotal step for VNUHCM-UHS in expanding its international network, with the aim of enhancing the quality of health sciences education and research. Both VNUHCM-UHS and KHU anticipate initiating collaborative programmes that will provide opportunities for the students, trainees, and faculty members, in the field of health sciences.
